The museum is open since 1973. It is near the city of Miletus. Most of the findings from Miletus and surrounding areas are displayed in the museum.
The Apollon head, Roman, Hellenistic and archaic age statues, mosaics, tiles, a colossal portrait of Hadrian, Mycenean pottery, a number of pieces from Dionysus and Apollon temples, reliefs from the Serapis temple , Islamic era grave stones and various coins from different ages are on exhibition and definitely worth to see.
All of the items on display are chronologically ordered . There are plenty of large marble blocks, reliefs and lion statues outside the museum building.
