THE SEVEN CHURCHES OF
ASIA MINOR
( 5 Days Tour)
Day 1. Arrive
IZMIR. Meet our Guide and transfer to your central city Hotel. Izmir (ancient
SMYRNA) was the second of the seven Christian churches in Asia Minor to
which St. John the Divine wrote (Revelation l-11). Dinner and overnight. BD
Day 2. City sightseeing of Yzmir, then proceed to PERGAMUM
(Bergama). Visit the Acropolis with its pagan temples and Altar of Zeus
which is mentioned as the Throne of Satan. Continue to the healing center,
Aesclepion. In the afternoon proceed to THYATIRA,
another of the Seven Churches. See the remains of a Basilica and other ruins
from the Roman Period. Return to Yzmir for overnight. BD
Day 3. After breakfast depart for SARDIS,
another of the Seven Churches mentioned by St. John. Continue to Philadelphia,
another of the Christian congregations, and a city built in 2 BC by King
Eumenos. Continue to PAMUKKALE (Hierapolis). Watch the sunset over the
petrified water-falls. Overnight in Pamukkale BD
Day 4. Visit HIERAPOLIS and then LAODICEA
before continuing to EPHESUS. See the final
abode of the Virgin Mary where she spent her last years. Tour thorough
ancient Ephesus to see the old synagogue, the theater where St. Paul
preached (Acts 10), the Library of Celsus and other sights. Later return to
Yzmir for dinner and overnight. BD
Day 5. After breakfast, board your luxury motor coach for a return
transfer to IZMIR Airport Some time for duty free shopping, return
flight home, arriving the same day with fresh memories and souvenirs.
